Watson -v- Epping Forest District Council
Mr Watson found himself in a very serious bind with the planning enforcement department of Epping Forest District Council and was recommended to contact PSi for help and advice.
Upon investigating the background of the case it was found that the council were at fault an immediately called a halt to the pending enforcement action and submitted an official complaint which was reluctantly upheld by the council leaving them open to a claim for damages.
The successful complaint was followed by an application for a certificate of lawfulness for the clients dwelling and other buildings that he had built without consent and at the same time applying to remove the Agricultural Occupancy Condition.
The application was subsequently approved by EFDC, thus preventing demolition of the dwelling and buildings and at the same time increasing our client's property value by around £1 million.
